Funds
You
must prove posession of these funds before you will be accepted
by the immigration authorities of either Canada. The funds may
be comprised of cash savings, bonds, investments, personal or
business property, equipment and inventory but NOT personal vehicles,
furniture, jewellery or clothing. Bring as much money as possible
to make moving and finding a home in Canada easier. You cannot
borrow this money from another person.

Quebec
Immigration does not require that you prove possession
of funds. It does require that you sign a contract stating
that you will not ask for Quebec Government assistance (Social
Aid) during the first 3 months following arrival in Quebec.
So
you must come with enough resources to see you through at
least the first 3 months.

Disclosure
of funds
If
you are carrying more than C$10,000, tell a Canadian official
when you arrive in Canada. If you do not tell an official,
you may be fined or put in prison. These funds could be in
the form of:
* cash
* securities in bearer form (for example, stocks, bonds, debentures,
treasury bills) or
* negotiable instruments in bearer form (for example, bankers
drafts, cheques, travellers cheques or money orders).
